About Our Company
Smokin Pecan has a rich family history and a love for pecans. Our journey began in the early 1950s when our great-grandfather, Clay Meyer Sr., planted the seeds of a legacy in the fertile soils of Texas, cultivating native pecan trees that would flourish for generations to come.
Following in his footsteps, our grandfather, Newell Atkinson III, ventured into the pecan industry in the late 1950s, laying the foundation for expanding the family business. In the present day, our dad, Newell Atkinson IV, has carried on the third generation of commitment to quality and excellence.
As our family enters its fourth generation in the pecan business, we’ve begun our mission in pecans growing, buying, and selling in-shell pecans, next cold storage, next shelling pecans, next pecan shell by-products. Our commitment to quality, customer service, and competitive pricing extends throughout our four generations.
We have used our 80-plus years of experience in the pecan industry to build long-term relationships. The Smokin Pecan pellets are cut above the rest in smoke, flavor, and cook time.
Remote Sales Development Representative (SDR)/Account Manager (AM)
Smokin Pecan is looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented, and experienced Remote Sales Development Representative / Account Manager (SDR/AM) to develop new client relationships and grow business-to-business (B2B) accounts and sales. The ideal candidate will be in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with the Sales Management and exceeding sales targets.
The Remote Sales Development Representative / Account Manager (SDR/AM) role includes identifying customer needs, building rapport, and closing sales using cold/warm calls and email campaigns. Success will be driven by strong communication and listening skills, outdoor cooking and grilling knowledge, and expertise in building relationships and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Our Remote Sales Development Representative / Account Manager (SDR/AM) representative in this role will focus on critical sales efforts such as:
- New B2B Customers. Cold & Warm calling, Cold & Warm emails from verified leads provided by Smokin Pecan, referrals from the Smokin Pecan Website, and networking within the Smokin Pecan Community.
- Strong Customer relationships. Establish trust with new business prospects and identify prospects' needs and problems in the pellet grilling category to build long-term customer satisfaction.
- Sales process management. Showcase the best pecan grilling pellet on the market today. Provide wholesale prices delivered to prospects' doors. Guide prospects through the sales process of creating a wholesale account on the Smokin Pecan website. CLOSE DEALS AND MEET SALES GOALS.
- Product knowledge. BE A PASSIONATE OUTDOOR COOK / GRILLER / BARBEQUING COOK / SMOKING MEATS. Learn our product, Smokin Pecan pellets, from A to Z and back to A.
- Client follow-up. Conduct post-sale follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and explore opportunities for additional sales efforts or referrals.
Qualifications and skills
To succeed in the Sales Development Representative / Account Manager role, qualified candidates must meet these requirements:
- Work experience. At least 1–5 years of experience as remote Sales Development Representative/ Account Manager (SDR/AM) using cold/warm calls, cold email campaigns, effective closer or a similar position, with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals and building customer.
- Technical skills. Expertise in CRM software (e.g., Click Up or others, Microsoft Office, Excel, and sales reporting tools for tracking sales efforts and maintaining customer data.
- Natural skills: exceptional communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and effective time management abilities, especially when working remotely. Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are also critical.
